He has committed acts 10,000 times as bad – the current estimate of deaths resulting from his reductions to USAID is 600,000 and rising, and this week research projected his petroleum strategies would kill 1.3 million more. But nothing as definitional. No former leader would have attempted – really, no former commander would have imagined – independently wrecking large sections of the White House in order to erect a Versailles-style party room, with the enthusiastic participation of numerous America's wealthiest, almost all of whom have business with the government.

As confusing as it is to witness the leader attempt to overturn the old idea regarding democracy and replace it with its direct contrary, there remains a substantial portion among Americans who should not find it entirely new. That is those of us – among senior generations a near majority – who were raised within mainstream Protestant traditions.
We have witnessed over the years while conservative evangelical congregations transformed the Christ we grew up with into the total contrary of who we understood him to be. Fundamentally, they converted a persona of affection into a symbol of animosity who endorses exactly the harshness that he denounced in biblical teachings; this transformation occurred more gradually, through multiple decades instead of months, but it is nonetheless disconcerting through similar means, a disorienting gut punch for countless people.
A Harmful Christianity Takes Hold

In the fifties it was restrained via weakening – The Protestant faith was so dominant that it practically sanctified existing conditions.
A Battle for the Best of Us
Therefore I have felt inspired to observe the determined opposition regarding Trump emerge during the previous year. It has provided great solace to participate in developing the campaign that has protested openly in rally after rally, and appears to have motivated voters to participate in numbers during minor elections. We shall require to maintain it, and in the same spirit, featuring US banners throughout each rally and calls to the highest qualities in US history.
