Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for clemency.

The exact content of the clemency request are unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and potential for unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, Maxwell was provided directions about who she should tell her contacts to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and urged the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

Raskin asked whether he had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any promises to Trump or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the inquiries by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
